Role Conditions

Working Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 17:00 & Friday, 07:30 – 11:30
Overtime paid at 1.5 times hourly rate

About the Role

On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for a Trainee Manufacturing Engineer. The role consists of the Creation of Manufacturing Planning Instructions of aircraft work from customer drawings and bills of material into sheet metal and machined piece parts, sub-assemblies, and top-level assemblies, including the co-ordination and sourcing of any tooling requirements.

Key Responsibilities Summary

Determine and develop the most suitable engineering methods for projects
Ensure progress to plan by working closely with site managers, and other engineers at all stages, co ordinating the materials, in line with customer requirements.
Carry out contract review of all new and repeat orders
Understand and translate customer drawings, specifications, quality and regulatory standards.
Create bills of materials and routings
Enter Set & Run Times into the system
Liaise with Customer Engineers to resolve technical and manufacturing issue’s as and when they arise.

Candidate Requirements

Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline (Preferred but not essential).
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills
Catia V5 advantageous
Previous experience of MRP/ERP Software would be an advantage.
