SAP Principal Consultant – Data

Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future - Hybrid Working (1 day in the office a week – Bradford/Leeds)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The SAP team is part of the IT function and plays a key role in optimising and transforming our SAP applications and associated Enterprise Systems. We support business areas such as Finance, HR, Procurement, Capital Delivery and Asset Maintenance/Management. Our team consists of functional and technical consultants, along with support related roles in Project Management, Business Analysis and Service Management, the SAP Data Principal Consultant will play a key role in the SAP Data & Analytics team driving business change and being a subject matter expert for the technology within this space.
Where you fit in:
As our SAP Principal Consultant – Data you will:
- Partner with SAP Functional and Technical Consultants to drive and embed robust data governance principles across a complex SAP landscape.
- Lead data-focused workstreams across multiple projects, taking ownership of the end-to-end design, build and execution of data migration activities.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, provide expert guidance and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Apply deep expertise across SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud solutions, including SuccessFactors, Concur and Ariba, with a strong understanding of data models, master data and end-to-end transactional processes.
- Champion data quality, integrity and compliance by promoting best practice in Data Governance, Data Protection and information management.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Strong understanding of data migration tools and methodologies, such as SAP Migration Cockpit, BODS, LSMW, or third party ETL tools.
- Strong grounding in data architecture, data modelling, data cleansing and data integration patterns.
- Proven ability to manage complex cutover activities from a data perspective, ensuring minimal disruption & successful migration activities.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Experience with SAP BTP, Datasphere, or cloud based data platforms.
