Main duties of the job
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will oversee care for up to 16 patients, supported by a dedicated medical secretary, medical staffing team, and a strong multidisciplinary workforce. Trust grade, Specialty and resident doctors, alongside senior nursing, psychology and occupational therapy colleagues, contribute to a collaborative and effective clinical environment.
The successful applicant will offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients being managed informally and those detained under the Mental Health Act in the capacity of Responsible Clinician. They will also play a vital role in the leadership of the wider urgent and inpatient care pathway and participate in ensuring the care flow of patients through the Trust is efficient and patient centred.
You will take part in the on-call rota and other consultants from the area will be expected to provide cross-cover for leave.
